DeKALB, Ill. - The Northern Illinois softball team was scheduled to participate in the Iowa Classic on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23, but inclement weather has forced the games to be cancelled.

The Huskies (5-9) were supposed to face Iowa (16-6) and Western Illinois (3-14) twice each in games this weekend. However, NIU will still play the Leathernecks this season as the two are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 9 at 3 p.m. in DeKalb.

NIU returns to action on Tuesday, March 25 to take on Valparaiso (11-6) in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. in Valparaiso, Ind.
