Prep: Trained at Twistars USA in Lansing, Mich. where she was a Level 10 gymnast for one year. Throughout her high school career, earned honors such as a first-place finish in the all-around at the USAG State meet her freshman year, as well as a first-place finish in the bars at Regionals. As a sophomore, won the state all-around title, took third in the all-around and first in the bars at Regionals, and claimed first-place in the bars competition, with a 9.575, at the National Level. She was in the top 10 percent of her class, while earning honor roll status all four years of high school.

Personal: Daughter of Bob and Jean Ruff of St. Johns, Mich. Born Nov. 27, 1988 in Lansing, Mich. While at NIU, is pursuing a degree in biological sciences with ambitions of becoming a physician's assistant.
