NIU Women's Golf Team Takes Ninth in Baja Invitational :: Several Huskies show improvement in final round of play

BAJA, Mexico-The Northern Illinois University women's golf team finished in ninth place at the Baja Invitational at the Bajamar Resort Tuesday, but several Huskies were able to move up the leaderboard on the final day.

Kim Hunley (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) who was in 37th place after after the first day of competition finished the tournament in a tie for 34th. Hunley shot a 253 (89-80-84) in the two-day event. Abbie Many (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) moved up six spots, moving into a tie for 41st. Many, who shot an 85 and 91 in the first and second rounds, posted an 82 in the final round, turning in a 258.

Anne Senn (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) also improved moving into the top 50, finishing in 45 after also shooting an 82 in her final round. Senn finished the tournament with a 262. Ashley Lods (Monticello, Ind./Twin Lakes) slipped one spot and tied for 47th. She shot an 84, 91 and 91 in three rounds of play to finish with a 266. Jessica Parmenter (Peoria, Ill./Peoria Christian) stayed in the top 50 after turning in a three-round total of 268. She shot an 82 in the first round and a 94 and 92 in the final two.

The Huskies return to the links March 6 when NIU travels to Sebring, Fla. To compete in the Springlake Dual.
