Welton's World - Entry No. 6

Dec. 27, 2007

Well, after a rather long semester we are finally getting a few days to relax. Of course we have to try to sneak in a few workouts, but instead of focusing on an upcoming game or practice, we're concentrating on Christmas dinners and deserts. It's so refreshing to get some time to spend with family and friends, and get away from DeKalb for a little while. And a win against Northern Iowa prior to our break, makes our mini vacation all the more worthwhile.

Our win against UNI was the best Christmas present I will get this year. It also marked the first time in Coach Owens' coaching tenure here at Northern where the Huskies won the contest prior to their Christmas break.

Although it's not much to say this entry, I'm sure many of those reading this can sense my excitement for being home and for our team, filtering through each sentence. I'm excited that I can share the holidays with loved ones, and I'm also equally excited to share this journey with my coaches and teammates. We all look forward to finishing the year 2007 strong and taking on a new year, and a renewed shot at the conference title. I have a feeling 2008 is going to be a remarkable year for us.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
