UALR First Tee Collegiate Final Results in PDF Format
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Northern Illinois finished in a 10th-place tie following a final round 313 Tuesday at the UALR First Tee Collegiate. Zach Jecklin (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) led the Huskie contingent by finishing in a tie for 16th position, eight strokes off the winning score. Jecklin's final round 79 gave him a total of 227 for the tournament. Andrew Frame (Manteno, Ill./Manteno) posted the Huskies best score of the day with a 74, just three strokes behind the day's low round, and finished at 240 for the three rounds. Tim Kay (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett) totaled a 233 to finished in a tie for 32nd while Matt Triplett (St. Charles, Ill./East) finished at 238 to finish in a tie for 49th. As a team, NIU put up a total of 313 in Tuesday's final round to finish at 933. "Andrew played real well today and stood out for us in the final round and it was good to see him finish strong after a tough start," said head coach John Cleary. "Zach played well overall and it was good to get contributions from Tim and Matt as well. It was a difficult course and we were fortunate to get the round in before any storms hit. We were the only Midwest school in this tournament and I thought we made strides. Our confidence is continuing to grow as we move forward and continue to get better as the season goes along." The Huskies resume action March 29 with the Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. -NIU-
