Entering his junior season, has played in all 25 games over the last two years. 2007: Played in all 12 games. Made five starts at weak side linebacker and four in the middle. One of only 10 defensive players to play in all 12 games in 2007. Made 58 tackles to rank eighth on the team, while his seven tackles for loss were third. Had at least one TFL in six games. Led Northern Illinois with six pass break-ups and two interceptions. Recovered a fumble in the Toledo game (10-27). Credited with 10 stops, including three tackles for loss, in the season-opener vs. Iowa (9-1). Set a career-high with 11 tackles vs. Eastern Michigan (9-15). Returned a blocked punt 32 yards for a touchdown and made two tackles vs. TCU in Poinsettia Bowl (12-19).
High School: Rated No. 28 on state prospect list by Rivals.com in 2006. Named team captain, first team All-Suburban Catholic Conference, first team Daily Herald DuPage All-Area, first team Chicago Sun-Times Class 1A-4A All-State, and first team Illinois Football Coaches Association Class 4A All-State as senior. Led team in scoring with 110 points on 18 touchdowns, in receiving with 38 catches for 643 yards and nine TDs, and ranked second in rushing with 744 yards and nine TDs on 95 attempts on 13-0 conference and Class 4A state champions during senior year. Scored three touchdowns and totaled 95 receiving yards and 66 rushing yards in 2005 state title game. Entered final prep campaign among league's top five players by Chicago Sun-Times and Area Top 100 players by Chicago Tribune. First team All-SCC and special mention Daily Herald DuPage All-Area as junior. Scored 14 touchdowns, rushed 24 times for 207 yards and four TDs and caught 18 passes for 507 yards and six scores on 12-2 Class 3A state titlist. Totaled 151 all-purpose yards with one touchdown and had interception in 2004 state championship game. Lettered on 14-0 Class 4A state champion as sophomore.
