2006: Redshirted. High School: Class 6A All-State selection and No. 29 state prospect by Rivals.com. Team captain and MVP, Larry Myer Defensive Player Award recipient, first team All-Fox Valley Conference, first team Northwest Herald All-Area and Player of the Year, first team Daily Herald Fox Valley All-Area and team co-captain, first team Chicago Sun-Times All-Area, second team Chicago Tribune All-State, first team Champaign News-Gazette All-State, and first team IFCA All-State as senior. Rushed for 694 yards and 10 touchdowns on 74 carries (9.4 avg.), had seven catches for 151 yards (21.6 avg.) and four TDs, converted 15-of-16 PAT kicks, and posted 64 tackles (38 solo) for 11-1 state quarterfinalist during senior year. Entered final campaign on Chicago Sun-Times Top Five Players and Area Top 100 Player lists. First team All-FVC, special mention Daily Herald All-Area, and first team Northwest Herald All-Area with team-leading 111 tackles on 13-1 Class 7A state runner-up as junior.
