2007: Limited by various ankle and knee injuries throughout the season. Started four games and played in six. Caught 18 passes for 166 yards. His 9.2 yards-per-catch average ranked fifth on the team. Started the Iowa, SIU, CMU and Temple games and returned to play at Toledo and vs. Kent State. Caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Dan Nicholson to put NIU ahead 21-7 in the 27-20 win over Kent State (11-10). Totaled career-highs of seven receptions and 65 yards in that game. Made five receptions for 34 yards in the season-opener vs. Iowa (9-1). Caught four passes for 51 yards at Toledo (10-27).

2006: Played in seven contests on special teams, including bowl game. Totaled four tackles on the season. Made collegiate debut vs. Indiana State (9-23). Collected three kickoff coverage tackles against Temple (10-21). Credited with stop in regular season finale at Eastern Michigan (11-24). Saw action vs. TCU in Poinsettia Bowl (12-19).


2005: Redshirted.

High School: Team captain and MVP, first team All-Trailways North Conference at TE and DL, first team Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Region at TE and DL, first team All-Area at TE and DL, and first team WFCA All-State at TE and DL as senior. Totaled 80 tackles, school-record eight sacks, two blocked kicks, and one pass deflection as defensive lineman and caught 30 passes for 517 yards (17.3 avg.) with six touchdowns as tight end for 7-3 playoff squad during senior season. Set career records for receptions (84), receiving yards (1,489), and sacks (16). Selected team captain, first team All-Trailways North Conference, first team all-region, first team All-Area, and honorable mention all-state as a junior. Set school season records with 33 receptions and 594 yards with five TDs as TE and totaled 87 tackles, seven sacks, seven pass deflections, and one blocked kick on defensive line during junior year. Second team all-conference with 21 catches for 378 yards and five TDs as TE and totaled 83 tackles and one sack as defensive lineman as sophomore. Three-time football letterwinner and earned one letter in basketball. Honor Roll student.

Personal: Born Nov. 5, 1986. Geography major. Son of Jeff and Linda Cunningham of Cambria, Wis. Admires Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow. Hobbies include hunting and fishing.
