2007: Played the first four games of the season before injuring his foot and undergoing surgery which forced him to sit out the remainder of the season. In addition to moving up to a second-team defensive end spot, saw action on the punt coverage unit. Made nine tackles on the year. Totaled a career-high four stops vs. Eastern Michigan (9-15). On the field for 40 snaps and registered three tackles, two solo, at Idaho (9-22).

2006: Redshirted.

High School: First team All-Upstate Illini South Conference and first team all-area during senior season. Team captain as tight end, linebacker and defensive end for 11-3 squad that reached state's elite eight during senior year. Honorable mention all-conference selection on 9-3 team playoff qualifier as junior.

Personal: Born Aug. 9, 1984. Sociology/Criminology major and a history minor. Huskie Scholar with 3.0 cumulative GPA through 2007 Spring semester. Parents are Timothy and Victoria Coffman. Aspires to pursue a career in government. Admirer of Mike Singletary and Brian Urlacher.
