2007: Started 11 games at defensive end and made 38 total tackles. Tallied 14 solo stops on the year. Ranked third among defensive linemen in tackles. Named MAC West Defensive Player of the Week after recording career-highs of eight tackles, two tackles for loss and one-and-a-half sacks vs. Kent State (11-10). Recognized on the Academic All-MAC Team. Led Huskie defensive linemen with four pass break-ups. Totaled six tackles vs. Eastern Michigan (9-15). Recorded seven stops vs. Western Michigan (10-13). Had two pass break-ups vs. both Southern Illinois (9-8) and Temple (10-6). 2006: Appeared in three games. Totaled four tackles, including two for loss, and one sack. Made collegiate debut at Ohio State (9-2). Recorded tackle for loss against Ohio (9-9). Registered first collegiate sack in two-tackle outing against Buffalo (9-16). 2005: Redshirted.
High School: Team captain, first team West Suburban Conference All-Silver Division, first team Suburban Life All-Area, special mention Chicago Sun-Times All-Area, and first team Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 8A All-State at OLB as a senior. Totaled 72 tackles, a school-record 14 sacks, and three fumble recoveries on 8-3 playoff qualifier during his senior season. Entered senior campaign on Chicago Tribune Top 100 Area Player list. Racked up 171 career tackles. First team West Suburban Conference All-Silver Division and first team Suburban Life All-Area on playoff team as junior.
