May 21, 2007 First baseman Scott Simon enters the MAC Tournament four hits from becoming the conference's all-time hit king. The senior from Algonquin has rewritten the NIU record book during his career, setting school marks for hits, RBI, doubles, games played and at-bats. Simon has received numerous award during his collegiate career and was one of 30 national candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, presented to college baseball's top student-athlete. During the 2007 campaign, Simon leads the Huskies with 68 hits on the year and is hitting .447 with 21 hits in his last 12 games.
