Position:
Associate Athletics Director

Bobbie Cesarek enters her 31st season on the campus of Northern Illinois and her seventh year as the Compliance Director for Huskie athletics.

Cesarek, who served as NIU's women's gymnastics coach from 1977-99, has been a DeKalb fixture and currently serves as the President of NIU's Supportive Professional Staff Council and the treasurer of the educational organization, Pi Lambda Theta / Beta Delta. This past spring, Cesarek began her duties as the Director of Scoring at the NCAA National Gymnastics Championship.

A 1975 graduate of Plymouth State College, Cesarek was a two-year gymnastics letterwinner for the Panthers, competing in the balance beam, floor exercise and vault. While there, Cesarek earned a Top Ten Student Scholarship and was named the Most Outstanding Senior in physical education.

Upon receiving her bachelor's degree in teaching (physical education) from Plymouth State, Cesarek headed west and earned her masters degree in physical education with an emphasis in exercise science and cardiac rehabilitation from Colorado State in 1977. She is currently working toward an Ed.D. degree at NIU in the College of Education.

Cesarek and her husband Lou have a 21-year old daughter, Nikki.
