DeKALB, Ill. - Northern Illinois' Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund, the primary direct support organization for NIU's 467 student-athletes in 17 sports programs, will begin its 2008 Spring Membership Drive on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the HASF "Kick-off Classic."

The free event begins at Noon at the NIU Convocation Center's Victor E. Court, where HASF members can enjoy a complimentary lunch and pick-up their 2008 membership renewal packet. In addition, new Northern Illinois head football coach Jerry Kill and his staff will be on hand to discuss the Huskie football program. Several other NIU coaches, athletics staff members and student-athletes will be in attendance.

Following the Kick-Off Classic, everyone is invited to attend the Northern Illinois-Ohio men's basketball game in the Convocation Center at 2 p.m. Huskie Athletic Scholarship Fund members can receive two complimentary tickets to the game by calling the HASF Office at 815-753-1923 or by bringing their Kick-Off Classic invitation to the Convocation Center Ticket Office on Feb. 2.
